Curriculum: Early Years Learning Framework

At Kilparrin we use Belonging Being Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia. Our teaching is informed by the principles, practices and philosophy of this document. We provide a play based progam of learning, and support children to develop communication, literacy, numeracy and social-emotional skills through co-construction of learning, and through their interests.

Kilparrin Early Learning teachers  provide a careful balance of play, where children drive their own learning and intentional teaching, where teachers support and develop new interests and skills.

Informed by the Expanded Core Curriculum, teachers support children to develop skills in the key areas relevant to their age.

At Kilparrin Early Learning Centre we believe that:

  • Belonging: is being a member of a family, the school and the wider community
  • Being: a child with all the joy and fun that entails
  • Becoming: an engaged learner and communicator

We believe that play is children's work and value each child's unique perspective as a member of the wider school community.
