Parent Feedback and Complaints

Kilparrin teachers work within the mathematics curriculum to provide students with basic mathematical skills and concepts.

Real objects are used as references, and materials and activities are adapted to accommodate each student’s sensory impairment (vision and/or hearing) and additional disabilities.

Kilparrin teachers provide informal and structured opportunities in authentic contexts in order for students to develop their number sense.

“…it is critical that teachers and parents provide both structured and informal opportunities to handle and explore, note likenesses and differences, match, group and classify, order, and experience other relationships with real objects to prepare them for understanding the same relationships with numbers.”
